Hello from Kagoshima, the paradise for tea buyers!!

We are KAGOTEAM! We provide the premium quality of kagoshima tea directly from our farms at a reasonable price.

Due to COVID-19 impact, we are unable to invite our buyers from overseas this year.

So we want to make sure that our buyers are well informed about our product and the story behind the farmers.

On June 2nd, 2020, we visited Mr. Sakamoto at Sakamoto Organic Tea L.L.C.

Their farm is located in the city called Shibushi. <<check the location>>

His company grows the best quality organic GYOKURO as well as Bio organic fertilizers.

It is only in Japanese, but the visual can help you understand how they make the best tea.

He kindly welcomed us into his special reception room with welcome-tea of new brand called, Seimei.

When I sipped this tiny cup of of tea, my eyes almost popped out.

It had very rich and deep aroma taste, which i did NOT expect from its light green color.

As a Japanese person, drinking tea is a part of my culture, but I’ve never had anything like this tea before.

As he makes us matcha, he started talking about his passion and motto for growing the BEST tea.

Making the best organic tea is his big passion.

Here is the list of how he makes his best tea (which is very hard to-do..)

  1. His farm ONLY makes Ichibancha
  2. They cut the tea trees into half after picking the ichibancha (This way, the trees were protected by pests.)
  3. Making the best bio organic fertilizers
  4. In the process of covering the tea trees, they do not put the cover over the trees. They makes space between the cover and the tea. >>check video

My best moment at Sakamoto Organic Tea L.L.C. was eating tea leaves after drinking tea.

It was soft, deep and sweet. I had a very “upper class” feeling.

We were there for almost 2 hours. We had very rich conversations.

We will save some for the next time!
