Hello from Kagoshima, the paradise for tea buyers!

We are KAGOTEAM!
We provide the premium quality of Kagoshima tea directly from our farms at a reasonable price.
Due to COVID-19 impact, we are unable to invite our buyers from overseas this year.
So we want to make sure that our buyers are well informed about our products and the stories behind the farmers.

We visited Orita En in Chiran, Kagoshima on the 21st of July, 2020.
It was a beautiful day, and Mt.Kaimon was covered with white white veil.

They have over 20 ha of tea garden in Chiran. They have been making organic tea for over 30 years.
They value inquiry mind for providing healthy life style through their tea.

We interviewed Mr.Orita, the principal and Mr.Mori who is in charge of Product Development Department.

It took them about 20 years to make fans and market in all over the world. They started small. At the beginning, some business men from the US bought their tea.
Some of them became their fans, and requested them to sell their tea in the US. Mr.Orita went abroad and gradually opened up markets in all over the world.

Their focus on providing healthy lifestyle through tea attracted many people.
Mr. Orita says that tea can prevent illness and stress relief can be expected by drinking tea.

Today, they have customers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the US and some other countries.

I asked them what the most important thing in the process of growing organic tea is, and they said it’s the weeding process.
No matter what the weather is like, about 20 staffs pick weed in the garden everyday by hand.

One thing that I didn’t know about weed is that weed is not necessarily evil. Some weed could be good for the garden.
There are some good viruses that actually help making healthy soil.
They understand the good relationship in all the elements in their garden and make the perfect environment to grow their special tea.

Mr. Mori produced a new tea bland “Relakuro” that includes high catechin and high polyphenol.
It contains about 3 times more polyphenol than black oolong tea.
Good result could be expected in weight loss.

They are very aggressive for challenge to invent better product.
